Catholic Home Schooling
by Dr. Mary Kay Clark |
|
Dr. Clark, a former principal and the foundress of
Seton Home Study School, has been committed to Catholic education for over
30 years. All seven of her children were home schooled. She sets down
all the reasons to home school, successfully refutes arguments against
homeschooling
and gives 101 pointers on how to home school. Covers curriculum, legal,
discipline, socialization, family
life, home management, learning disabilities, single parents, father’s role
and more. Practical and well-written.
Easy to read. Home schooling well may be the salvation of our entire
society! |

Designing Your Own
Classical Curriculum by Laura Berquist |
|
Home educator Laura
Berquist presents a modern curriculum based on the time-tested philosophy of
the classical Trivium - grammar, logic and rhetoric. She has given
homeschoolers a valuable tool for putting together a "liberal arts"
curriculum that feeds the soul, as well as the intellect. Her approach,
covering grades K-12, is detailed and practical, and it is adaptable by
parents and teachers to any situation. This third revised edition includes a
much expanded section for a high school curriculum, and an updated list of
resources for all grades. St. Francis Books is mentioned in the Appendix as
a recommended resource for homeschoolers. |
